Dominican International School Kaohsiung Celebrates an Exciting Sports Day
Dominican International School Kaohsiung (DISK) hosted a thrilling and energetic Sports Day, bringing together students, faculty, and staff for a day of friendly competition and teamwork. The event was filled with enthusiasm as students showcased their athletic skills and house spirit.
The program began with an Opening Prayer led by Fr. Prudencio Garcia, OP, invoking blessings for a safe and enjoyable event. This was followed by an inspiring Opening Remark by Sister Eva Gamotin, OP, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance.
A highlight of the event was the House Parade, where each house proudly displayed their colors and team spirit. The five houses – Spiritual House, Truthful House, Active House, Responsible House, and Studious House – marched with pride, cheering and showing their unity.
Adding to the grandeur of the event, the Torch Bearers—Zoe, Iris, Harper, and Willow—lit the ceremonial torch, symbolizing the start of the competitions and igniting the spirit of friendly rivalry among the participants.
The students competed in various sports and activities, demonstrating their athletic abilities, teamwork, and determination. After an intense day of games, the final results were announced:
🏆 Champion: Studious House
🥈 1st Place: Active House
🥉 2nd Place: Responsible House

The success of the event would not have been possible without the leadership and efforts of Mr. Bautista, Sports Coordinator, and Ms. Yao, Activity Coordinator, who ensured the smooth execution of all activities. Their dedication, along with the support of the faculty and staff, made Sports Day a memorable experience for everyone.
DISK’s Sports Day was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of camaraderie, perseverance, and school spirit. As the students return to their academic pursuits, they carry with them the values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience learned through sports.
